dc.description.abstract Human capital accumulation is a key indicator of the development process and is closely related to other development indicators such as socioeconomic status and occupational productivity. This study examines the human capital investment decisions that parents make in relation to their children’s schooling. By conducting a cross-sectional empirical analysis, it aims to determine how parents’ subjective aspirations drive their investment decisions regarding children’s schooling. The study uses the 2010/11 Privatization in Education Research Initiative (PERI) dataset, which comprises a sample of children aged 5–14 who are currently enrolled in school.
