Abstract:
This study looks at the impact of remittances on well-being of children aged under 5 in Punjab, Pakistan. By using the logistic regression model, we analyze the impact of remittances on well-being in terms of child’s nutritional status, child’s functioning ability and early childhood development. Data has been taken from the Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys 2017-18. The empirical evidence shows that remittances effect children’s nutritional status and early childhood development positively and significantly whereas the impact becomes insignificant for children’s functioning ability as more variables (household/ children’s characteristics) are added in the model.
